With the onset of the autumn season, it will be more difficult for the Ukrainian Defense Forces to maneuver, an American general believes.
Time leaves Ukraine another 30-45 days for a counter-offensive. Mark Milley, head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, said this in an interview with the BBC.
In his opinion, with the onset of the autumn season, it will be more difficult for the Ukrainian Defense Forces to maneuver. Milley also noted that the Ukrainian army is advancing, but more slowly than expected.
“Hard fighting is still going on. The Ukrainians are fighting and are consistently advancing. There is still time left, maybe about 30-45 days of fighting weather, so the Ukrainians are not finished yet. The fight is not over yet. They are not yet done in the battle phase of what they planned,” Milley said.
Meanwhile, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, assured that time will not stop in the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to him, the Ukrainian counter-offensive will continue after the onset of cold and wet weather, although the cold makes it difficult to conduct military operations.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct defensive operations in the east and offensive operations in the south of Ukraine. Fierce fighting continues in the direction of Bakhmut – in the area of Kleshchievka.
