On Sunday, September 10, the Russian occupiers plan to hold a pseudo-election in the occupied territory of Ukraine. The Russians plan to elect so-called “leaders and representatives of local councils,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in its morning report.

“It should be noted that most of the candidates do not have a higher education and work as janitors, security guards and cleaners. The occupiers only use their identities to hide the real “leaders” of the occupied territories, ” said the message.

The General Staff also noted that these pseudo-elections and their results do not recognize peace, and the very fact of their holding and the participation of the local population will be used by the occupation authorities to consider sources of human mobilization and their subsequent conscription into the ranks of the Russian army.

“The command of the Ukrainian Defense Forces calls for a renunciation of participation in such pseudo-democratic events and refraining from joining the occupation forces,” the General Staff said.

As you know, the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation has scheduled “elections” for September 10 in the territories of Ukraine seized by the invaders – in parts of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, as well as in the so-called “DPR” and “LPR”.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry initiated an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council and the introduction of new sanctions against the Russian Federation due to such measures.
