According to media reports, the approximate parameters of the plan that can be offered in Ukraine are being discussed.
Western countries – the United States, Britain and the European Union – have been in talks for weeks on a plan to end Russia’s war against Ukraine, CNN wrote.
In particular, the plan proposed by Italy, which includes four stages, is also discussed:
-
the first was a complete ceasefire and the removal of troops to the front line;
-
the second is Ukraine’s accession to the EU and guarantees of non-entry into NATO;
-
the third is a bilateral agreement between Ukraine and Russia on Crimea and Donbass. The plan provides for the autonomy of these territories;
-
the fourth is the conclusion of a multilateral peace and security agreement in Europe.
It was noted that Ukraine is not engaged in negotiations, which contradicts the US statement about “nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.” At the same time, the States are not putting pressure on Kyiv and are not pushing it to negotiate with Russia.
According to media reports, there is a discussion of the approximate parameters of the plan for a peaceful settlement, which can be offered in Ukraine.
Sources also noted that Kyiv is unlikely to be ready for any agreements that provide for the loss of territories. The US, for its part, also does not support Italy’s plan.
Earlier, the media published five possible scenarios for ending the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine.
