The Russians are holding “elections” in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine from September 8 to 10.
Russia, its political leadership and all involved in organizing elections in the occupied territories of Ukraine will be brought to justice. This was said on Friday, September 8, by the permanent representative of the EU to the Organization, Olof Skoog, at a meeting of the UN Security Council.
“Russia, its political leadership and others involved in organizing the illegal so-called election will face consequences for these illegal actions,” Skoog said.
He also noted that the pseudo-election is taking place “against the backdrop of the forced and illegal issuance of Russian passports, including to children,” as well as massive and systematic violations of human rights in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
“Russia’s pseudo-elections on the territories of Ukraine, which are under temporary military occupation, are insignificant, according to international law. They are unrecognizable and unrecognizable,” he said.
Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the UN Sergei Kislitsa called for the introduction of tough sanctions against Russia for holding fake elections in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
We remind you that the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation has set “elections” for September 10 in the territories of Ukraine seized by the invaders – in parts of Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, as well as in the so-called “DPR” and “LPR”.
