Danish tank instructors, along with the German side, are training crews and delivering tanks to Ukraine.
The first ten Leopard 1 tanks, jointly prepared by Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands, arrived in Ukraine. The Danish Armed Forces announced this on Friday, September 8.
“Ten Leopard 1 tanks are already on Ukrainian territory, and more are on the way. They can be part of the offensive that the Ukrainians are continuing. The work, which has been going on since the spring, does not stop. The training takes place in Germany, where the Danish tank instructor with the German The party prepares crews and transfers tanks to Ukraine,” the message said.
It is indicated that the second batch sent from the factory included 10 tanks.
“This is a very important task. Denmark has sent some of our best tank instructors to Germany to teach the Ukrainians how to make the most of this weapon system. And I have no doubt that it will help them win the battle in defense they are fighting now,” said Danish Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Arpe Nielsen.
Let’s recall that on August 30, the German government announced the provision of another package of military aid to Ukraine, which included Leopard 1A5 tanks.
The media also reported that Germany approached Greece with a proposal to transfer up to 100 Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine and receive modernized armored vehicles.
