American billionaire Elon Musk denies CNN’s information about shutting down the Starlink satellite Internet network off the coast of temporarily occupied Crimea in order to thwart an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the fleet of the Russian occupation army. He, on the contrary, refused to enable communications for such an attack.

According to Musk, Starlink did not work there anyway, and he, on the contrary, rejected Ukraine’s request to activate it because he did not want to escalate the conflict.
An emergency request was received from Ukrainian government agencies to activate Starlink along the entire route to Sevastopol. Apparently the goal was to sink most of the Russian fleet at anchor. If I agreed to fulfill their request, SpaceX would become a clear accomplice to a major act of war and escalation of the conflict,” Musk argues.
The day before, CNN, citing biographer Elon Musk, wrote that last year the businessman secretly ordered his engineers to shut down the Starlink satellite communications network near Crimea in order to thwart a Ukrainian attack on the Russian navy. He was afraid of escalation.
