The Ukrainian Armed Forces have repelled numerous enemy attacks in the east and are advancing in the directions of Bakhmut and Melitopol.
The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult; in the past 24 hours, 39 military clashes took place on the front. The General Staff reported this in its morning report on September 8.
Seven missiles and 74 air strikes were recorded, as well as 46 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions and populated areas.
In the Kupyansky direction, the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in the Sinkovka area of the Kharkov region, in the Limansky direction – in the Novoyehorivka area of the Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian army repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Orekhovo-Vasilovka, Kleshchievka and Andreevka in the Donetsk region.
“As a result of the attack operations, the Defense Forces had a partial success south of Bakhmut, drove the enemy from their positions and consolidated the achieved lines,” the General Staff emphasized.
In the Avdeevsky direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attacked the areas of Keramika and Avdeevka in the Donetsk region.
In the direction of the Maryinsky, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to prevent the advance of Russian troops in the areas of Marinka and Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk region; in the past 24 hours, more than ten enemy attacks have been repulsed here.
In the Shakhtarsky direction, the Defense Forces repelled the invaders in the area south of Prechistovka, Donetsk region.
At the same time, Ukrainian defenders continue to conduct an offensive operation in the direction of Melitopol, destroy the enemy and liberate the occupied territories one after another. They had success in the area south of Rabotino and were consolidating their positions.
In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces aviation has carried out ten strikes on areas where Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment are concentrated.
Rocket and artillery units hit an ammunition depot, six artillery weapons, two control points, and two enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
