Irina Mudrik noted that over the year, only 130 million hryvnias worth of cash was recovered from state revenue, and billions of hryvnias worth of movable and immovable property.

On September 1, 2022, the High Anti-Corruption Court made the first decision to confiscate the property of a sanctioned Russian citizen in Ukraine. The properties of the oligarch Yevtushenkov, on which sanctions were applied by order of the President of Ukraine, were recovered as state income. The Ministry of Justice reported on the work carried out on this issue. This was stated in a message from Deputy Minister of Justice Irina Mudrik on her Facebook page, published on Thursday, September 7.

According to him, during the year the department carried out the following work:

  • 29 claims against VAKS for recovery of assets for state income;

  • 28 decisions (first instance) satisfied;

  • 25 decisions have entered into legal force, others are on Appeal or in the phase of entering into legal force;

  • 1 claim under consideration of VAKS (sanctioned Babakov, Giner, Voevodin with energy, industrial, hotel industry matters);

  • 41 sanctioned persons to whom sanctions are applied.

“These are several dozen companies… hundreds of real estate and thousands of movable property worth billions of hryvnias, and even cash in the amount of 130 million UAH,” the official explained.

According to him, “these assets should be used to pay compensation to the victims.”

He recalled that Washington was preparing to transfer to Kyiv 5.4 million US dollars confiscated from Russian oligarch Malofeev for evading sanctions.

“Until the end of this month, there will be new claims filed with VAKS. Next, we will pass the baton to the State Property Fund of Ukraine,” Mudrik concluded.

As we have already written, VAKS satisfied the claim of the Ministry of Justice and recovered for state income the properties belonging to the Russian oligarch Andrei Molchanov – Aerok LLC, part of the group of LSR Group companies.
