Among the objects included in the list are cathedrals, wooden churches, engineering structures, buildings of scientific institutions, and scenic attractions.
UNESCO has included 20 cultural heritage sites of Ukraine in the International List of Cultural Property under enhanced protection, the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine reported.
The ministry reported that we are talking about the following things:
St. Sophia Cathedral and associated monastic buildings, Kiev Pechersk Lavra;
Lviv – Ensemble of the historical center;
Wooden churches of the Carpathian region: Yasinyanskaya Church of the Ascension of the Lord; Zhovkovskaya Church of the Holy Trinity; Matkovskaya Church Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the temple; Nizhneverbezhskaya Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary; Poteletsky Church of the Exile of the Holy Spirit; Rohatyn – Church of the Exile of the Holy Spirit;
Residence of Bukovina and Dalmatian metropolitans;
Struve geodetic arc: Ekaterinivka; Baranovka; Felshtyn; Staro-Nekrasovka;
Astronomical Observatory of Kyiv National University;
Cultural landscape of the canyon in Kamenets-Podolsky;
Dendrological Park Sofievka;
Derzhprom (State Industrial Building);
Astronomical Observatory of Odessa National University;
Nikolaev Astronomical Observatory;
The tomb of Taras Shevchenko and the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.
Earlier, the Ministry of Culture said that the occupiers took thousands of cultural properties from Ukraine. The exact amount stolen is unknown.
