The video was published on his Telegram channel.
In the video, Budanov is brought a cake with candles: when he blows on the candles, the sound of an explosion is heard, then the song Happy Birthday To You plays.
The very essence of the profession of military intelligence has never implied a public assessment of our activities, because intelligence officers are people of silent feat. But large-scale war of conquest and dynamic geopolitical changes in the security environment have brought significant adjustments to intelligence work. Currently, the whole world is watching our achievements and trusts us and the information provided. Forewarned is forearmed! Successful completion of combat missions behind enemy lines, conducting special operations, freeing hostages and prisoners made an invaluable contribution to the intelligence officers in the fight for the sovereignty, territorial integrity of the state and the freedom of millions of Ukrainians, Budanov’s congratulations say.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate also thanked the intelligence officers for their service and promised to take revenge on the invaders “for our soldiers, for killed and maimed children, for orphans and parents, for Ukrainian cities and villages, for our sky, our land and our sea.”
Let us recall that Military Intelligence Day is celebrated annually on September 7, since it was on this day in 1992 that a strategic-level intelligence agency was created within the Ministry of Defense.
