German Finance Minister Christian Lindner has expressed his desire to visit Ukraine in the near future. He said this on the air of the WELT TV channel on June 3.
“In a recent conversation, my colleague from the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance said that it would be beneficial for them if I, as the Minister of Finance and the current chairman of the G7 Finance Ministers, visited Kyiv. And that’s why we’re doing it now, ”he said. head of the German Ministry of Finance.
At the same time, Lindner declined to comment on the possibility of a trip to Kyiv by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
It will be recalled that immediately after the invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops in February, Christian Lindner said that “there is still some time left in Ukraine” and it is pointless to provide weapons to Kyiv or disconnect Russia from the SWIFT system.
