Representatives of Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land went to Germany to help British Army personnel prepare CVR(T) MK2 reconnaissance vehicles for shipment to Ukraine.
Experts provided support in troubleshooting, technical advice and recommendations for repairs, advice on vehicle safety, conducted road tests and took part in repairs.
In total, 23 armored vehicles were prepared within 32 days.
It is still unknown when exactly the vehicles will be at the disposal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Scimitar Mk 2 is an upgraded version of the Scimitar armored reconnaissance vehicle in service with the British Army. The first such vehicles were received by the British Army for deployment in Afghanistan in September 2011.
The vehicle’s armor was reinforced with additional Plasan modules, as well as a grille to counter hand grenade launchers. Also, its hull and turret are equipped with enhanced anti-mine and explosive protection and electronic countermeasures to protect against improvised explosive devices.
