We can talk about 42 units of military equipment. Berlin is now free to make the appropriate decision in its own right.

Switzerland allowed Germany to move Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine. This was reported by tagesanzeiger.ch.

The Swiss Federal Ministry of Defense, Civil Defense and Sports states that Berlin is free to make the appropriate decision in its sole discretion.

It was noted that in 2010-2011, Switzerland returned 42 of these tanks to the German manufacturer Rheinmetall. But they first dismantled the 120-mm gun, several rocket launchers, machine guns, on-board communication systems and other equipment. These components remained as spare parts for the remaining Leopard tanks.

Earlier it was reported that German defense concern Rheinmetall was preparing to supply Ukraine with up to 50 Leopard 1 tanks and up to 60 Marder infantry fighting vehicles.

It will be recalled that in Germany they explained why they were delaying the supply of arms to Ukraine.
