President Volodymyr Zelensky in his speech listed 100 words that have acquired special or new meaning for Ukrainians.
“Great people of great Ukraine! Exactly one hundred days ago we all woke up to a different reality. Exactly one hundred days ago, the rest of us woke up. When the Ukrainians woke up not in sunlight, but by explosions of rockets hitting.our homes, then completely different Ukrainians woke up.In 2014, Russia came to us with one word, a new word.And this word is “war . ”On February 24, Russia added another word to this word, making the phrase“ full-scale war. ”And within a hundred days we had found or received, seen or wanted to erase the words of others. “Not many of them. They are different. But they reflect what we have experienced,” the president said.
He stressed that among these words there are also new ones, such as “Haymars”, “Bayraktar”, “Harpoon”, “Rzeszow”, “Starlink” and “Lend-Lease”.
Zelensky also noted the fact that a number of words with negative connotations appeared in the language, which had to be erased after the Victory, such as “orcs”, “Sun”, “Iskanders” and “Caliber”.
