The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on changing the administrative-territorial structure of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (ARC). This was announced on Monday, September 4, by the press service of the presidential office of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
“The President of Ukraine signed the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine to Address Certain Issues of the Administrative-Territorial Structure of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea”, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on August 23, the day of the third summit of the Crimean Platform,” the message said.
It was noted that the bill was developed by the Representative Office together with the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the organization of state power, local self-government, regional development and urban planning.
“After the law is implemented – the day after its official publication, the decisions adopted by the Parliament in 2016 and 2020 regarding decommunization and the introduction of a new regional division of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea will be implemented,” the publication . said.
The main purpose of the law was to prepare the land for the de-occupation of the peninsula.
“After all, military and military-civilian administrations were created to operate on the territory of territorial communities,” the statement said.
The law also orders the Cabinet of Ministers to determine the territories and administrative centers of territorial communities in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea within a month.
In addition, the government must create district state administrations (RGAs) of new districts within three months, as well as submit to parliament a bill on the details of the renewal of public authorities in Crimea after eviction
