This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of Poland Mariusz Kaminsky, reports the agency “Ukrinform”.
As for our relations with Belarus, we are in a very tense situation. From time to time, we are faced with various provocations from the regime (the most proclaimed president, Alexander Lukashenko – ed.). And in this case, we are dealing with a provocation,” Kaminsky noted.
According to him, this is an attempt by Minsk to respond to a “very strong protest” at the political and diplomatic levels regarding the violation of Polish airspace by Belarusian helicopters a few weeks ago.
Kaminsky added that the situation requires careful monitoring of events in Belarus, where military maneuvers with the participation of Russian troops continue.
At the same time, he stressed that Poland “concentrated large forces that will quickly and adequately respond to the situation,” and also noted that he had met with the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Baltic countries, since Latvia and Lithuania also have a common border with Belarus and face such same problems.
If a serious, critical incident occurs, all our countries will immediately react jointly and in solidarity,” Kaminsky assured.
He also noted that he recently spoke with the coordinator of the American intelligence services, Avril Gaines. They exchanged information about what is happening in Belarus and possible provocations at the border.
According to Kaminsky, American allies are also ready to respond to a possible negative scenario for the development of the situation.
