The number of employees of the Russian diplomatic department in Copenhagen should be reduced to the level of the Danish embassy in Moscow.
The Danish Foreign Ministry told Russian Ambassador Vladimir Barbin that the size of the Russian embassy in Copenhagen should be reduced to the level of the Danish embassy in Moscow. This was announced on September 1 by the press service of the Danish Foreign Ministry.
Thus, until September 29, a maximum of five diplomats and 20 administrative and technical employees should remain on the staff of the Russian embassy.
The ministry emphasized that the representatives of the two countries have been conducting long negotiations on the issuance of visas to Danish diplomats to support the work of the embassy in Moscow, but they did not lead to any results – because of ” Russia’s repeated attempts to put the issuance of visas to intelligence officers on the agenda.”
It will be recalled that in April, the Norwegian authorities declared 15 Russian embassy employees engaged in espionage under diplomatic cover persona non grata.
