From the Roskosmos presentation, however, it follows that putting the complex into combat duty is scheduled for 2024.

The aggressor nation Russia has apparently deployed and put into combat duty the Sarmat strategic missile system. This was said by Director General of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov at an open lesson as part of an educational marathon organized by the Russian society Znanie, TASS reported on Friday, September 1.

“The strategic complex Sarmat has been put on combat duty,” Borisov said without giving any details.

At the same time, the agency said that from the Roscosmos presentation presented during the event, it follows that the Sarmat complex is scheduled for combat duty in 2024.

Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly threatened the world with the Sarmat missile in March 2018. After that, the media reported failed Sarmat rocket launches.

The Sarmat missile will replace the Soviet intercontinental ballistic missiles R-36M2 Voevoda. Its development has been carried out at the Makeev State Rocket Center since 2009. In Russia, they say that Sarmat can surpass all available and promising air defense and missile defense systems.
