Law enforcement officials of Ukraine in almost any country in the world can request the extradition of people who went abroad using fake VLK documents.
Men who went abroad with the help of fake certificates of “unfitness” for mobilization can be extradited to Ukraine and punished according to the law. This was announced on Thursday, August 31, by the head of the Servant of the People group in the Verkhovna Rada, a member of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence, David Arakhamia, Suspilne reports.
“People paid from $3,000 to $15,000 to get a document that temporarily does not allow them to be drafted into the army, or permanently prohibits going there, that is, with the help of a degree of disability,” explained the deputy of people.
According to Arahamia, Ukrainians spent millions of dollars to bribe officials and medical workers.
He insisted that such people should be punished.
“What will happen to the people who did this? They will be held accountable under the laws for giving bribes, forging documents, for avoiding mobilization,” the head of the faction said.
At the same time, he pointed out that it is difficult to hold accountable those who have already left.
“But now we have greatly increased the direction of international legal assistance. In fact, except for Russia, perhaps in any country in the world, our law enforcement agencies can go and make requests for the extradition of such people, and bring them to Ukraine so that they suffer the appropriate punishment,” – summed up Arakhamiya.
He added that law enforcement officials will try to file charges against such people.
It was previously reported that the evaders tried to flee to Romania by hiding in the back of a truck. Border guards also detained two men who tried to enter Moldova illegally by swimming across the Dniester on an air mattress.
