There is information that Ukrainian helicopters landed at a time when a Russian Su-35 fighter was in the air.
Two Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopters crashed in the Donetsk region during a combat mission. It is known that six are dead, but this information needs to be clarified. This was said by the head of the press service of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ilya Yevlash in a commentary for RBC-Ukraine on Thursday, August 31.
He clarified that the accident occurred in the Kramatorsk region, but the outcome was unknown.
“Yes, in fact, there was a plane crash involving two Mi-8 helicopters. They were on a combat mission. While they were on an air mission, there was an enemy Su-35 fighter,” said by Yevlash.
He added that the data on the number of deaths needed clarification.
“But, preliminarily, the head of the press service of the 18th separate army aviation brigade has already reported that there are six of them … The commission is working now. What caused this disaster will be known later,” Yevlash said.
Remember, on August 25, two L-39 combat training aircraft collided in the Zhytomyr region, three pilots were killed. The State Bureau of Investigation is considering three versions of the crash.
