The visit to Ukraine was scheduled for August 22-24, probably related to the Crimean Platform summit.
In general, according to the Georgian constitution, the president exercises representative powers in foreign relations only with the consent of the government.
The pro-government Georgian Dream party said Zurabishvili wanted to start her tour from Germany as early as August 31.
Ekho Kavkaza journalists write that this is how Georgian Dream cannot forgive Zurabishvili for the words about the lack of support from the government of Ukraine and criticism of the resumption of air traffic from Russia.
One of the MPs also believes that the ruling party “not only does not comply with the recommendations for obtaining the status of a candidate for the EU, but also openly sabotages the entire process.”
