The Office of the President is trying to deceive society by equating corruption during the war with high treason. In fact, this idea has nothing to do with the fight against corruption.

This is what the Anti-Corruption Action Center said, citing its own sources. The Office of the President wants to give the right to investigate corruption cases, fully controlled by the Banking Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
This will allow the SBU to transfer cases of top corruption to NABU and will nullify the exclusive jurisdiction of NABU. We are talking about cases where the damage to the state is more than UAH 24 million.
That is, all the most large-scale corruption cases. It seems that Ermak’s deputy Tatarov is following all this. What we get: in the hands of the SBU and the old, unreformed courts, such changes are a great opportunity to imprison opponents, while covering for “our own”. Recall that the case of Tatarov was taken from NABU to the SBU, where he was buried. Now the Office of the President will try to scale the scheme. Therefore, it looks more like an attempt to deceive the society, rather than solve the problem, the CPC said in a comment.
On August 27, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced his intention to change the legislation. He promises to submit the relevant bill to the Verkhovna Rada in the coming days.
Sources in the OPU and NABU explained in a comment ZN.UAwhat is the danger of passing this bill
At first, the idea was this: to amend the legislation, according to which all corruption cases that are investigated in the field of national security and exceed UAH 24 million should be investigated by the Security Service of Ukraine. NABU was asked to leave corruption smaller than 24 million, a source in the OPU told ZN.UA.
People would be explained that now, during the war, large-scale corruption by law will be equated with treason. This means that the punishment under this article will be more severe: the terms are longer and it is impossible for the suspect to get out on bail, the source added.
