If Ukraine controls the administrative border with the peninsula, then Russia can be squeezed politically.
President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that Russia may be forced to withdraw troops from occupied Crimea thanks to political pressure. He spoke about this in an interview with journalist Natalya Moseychuk.
For such a scenario, for this, Ukraine must control the administrative border with the peninsula.
“There are fewer victims. If we were on the administrative border of Crimea, I believe it would be possible to politically force the demilitarization of Russia on the territory of Crimea. I believe it would be better,” said the president.
Recall that the former Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov said that, most likely, the liberation of Crimea will take place through military means. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council believes that if the aggressor country does not withdraw its troops, the peninsula must be liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
