There are manipulations related to the so-called Crimean Platform, which Serbia allegedly joined… The Prime Minister took part in this meeting through a video message, but we did not approve the text of the declaration, because it goes beyond the limits that are acceptable to us,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs del Ivic Dacic, according to the Serbian publication Politika.
On August 23, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba noted that Serbia, as well as the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, had joined the Crimean Platform.
It should be noted that Dacic’s statement about Serbia’s non-alignment with the Crimean Platform is not entirely true, since not only the countries that supported the declaration, but the actual participants in the Crimean Platform summit are considered to be the countries participating in the platform.
Dacic’s comment appeared in the Serbian media on the morning of August 25, and on August 24 they reported on his meeting with the Russian ambassador to Serbia.
It is also noteworthy that Russia previously issued a statement threatening Bosnia and Herzegovina for the participation of its delegation in the summit, while Serbia’s participation was left without a public reaction.
In a statement, the Russian diplomatic mission announced that it perceives the presence of representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the summit as an “openly hostile act” and an attack on the territorial integrity of Russia, and Moscow “reserves the right to respond to unfriendly actions.”
Serbia joined the Crimean Platform for the first time this year, as Prime Minister Ana Brnabych spoke at the meeting on August 24.
