The deadline for elimination is 90 days, starting from August 26, according to the FIFA website.
In addition, the disciplinary committee issued two orders to protect Jenny Hermoso and asked Rubiales and the leadership of the federation to refrain from contact with the football player or her relatives personally or third parties.
Rubiales himself said that he would “defend himself legally in the competent authorities, fully trust the bodies of FIFA and confirm that in this way he is given the opportunity to start his defense so that the truth wins and his complete innocence is proved.”
Rubiales kissed midfielder Jenny Hermoso on the lips as Spain players were honored after winning the Women’s World Cup final on 20 August. Rubiales claims that the kiss happened by mutual agreement – Hermoso says the opposite.
At least 81 players have already said they will not play for Spain as long as Rubiales remains in office. They included 23 participants in the World Cup, including Jennifer Hermoso. Rubiales refused to resign, promising to “fight to the end”.
