An American fighter plane crashed north of San Diego in California. This was reported on August 25 by ABC News, citing a Pentagon spokesman.
It is known that the crash happened in a remote area east of the Marine Corps air base Miramar. An F/A-18 Hornet military aircraft is on a training flight.
The causes of the crash, as well as the fate of the pilot, are still unknown.
Earlier it was reported that the light military aircraft crashed in Italy during a training flight, two pilots died.
