On July 14th, the International Non-Binary Pride Day was celebrated, an important date to give visibility to the agendas and voices of people who are outside the gender binarity.
More and more we see countless names from the LGBTQIAP+ community gaining prominence in the entertainment world. To get to know a little more about non-binary artists, we chose five productions with artists from the community.
1- “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”, with Janelle Monáe on Netflix
In the film, millionaire Miles Bron invites his unusual friends to his island to play a detective game, but a murder is committed and things get out of hand. Everyone on the island is a suspect and death can come from where you least expect it.
2- “Jonathan Van Ness Wants to Know”, with Jonathan Van Ness on Netflix
In the series, Jonathan Van Ness’s curiosity has no end, the production shows the protagonist seeking to know the reason for everything and understand how things work: from love to sweets to the fascinating world of insects and several other things.
3- “Zoey and her Fantastic Playlist”, with Alex Newell at Globoplay
The two-season series shows Zoey’s story after an unusual accident, the protagonist is an intelligent programmer and acquires the ability to hear other people’s innermost thoughts and desires through musical numbers that only she can see.
4- “RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars”, with Shea Couleé on Netflix
The famous series contains eight seasons and in the 5th the participation of the non-binary artist caught the attention of viewers. In the competition, drag queens from previous seasons once again compete for the $100,000 prize pool and also compete for a place in the Drag Race Hall of Fame.
5- “The Last of Us” with Bella Ramsey on HBO Max
The hit series tells the story of Joel, a rigid and cynical survivor, and the young and intense Ellie who connect through the difficulty of the world in which they live. Together, they face brutal circumstances and heartless monsters during a difficult journey across the United States in the aftermath of an apocalyptic outbreak.
