He said the merger was not limited to just one phase of expansion.
“The five BRICS countries have agreed on the principles, norms, standards and procedures for the group’s expansion process. . We have reached a consensus on the first phase of the enlargement process, after which there will be others,” the South African leader stressed.
The politician added that BRICS is “a partnership of equal countries with different visions, but the only vision to create a better world.”
A total of 22 countries applied to join the group.
Remember that from August 22 to 24, the BRICS summit will be held in Johannesburg.
