The Seim crossing near Baturin was destroyed at the beginning of the Russian invasion, it was restored in about a year.
In the Chernihiv region, a 400-meter bridge across the Seim River near Baturyn was opened. This was announced on August 24 by the head of the State Agency for Rehabilitation and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, Mustafa Nayem.
According to him, at the beginning of the full invasion of the Russian Federation, the crossing was destroyed.
In order to restore communication after de-occupation, a temporary crossing was installed in the summer of 2022. Correspondingly, work began on the restoration of the bridge, which lasted almost a year.
Builders dismantled the rubble of the exploded bridge, installed supports, placed superstructure beams, monolithic slabs, applied a layer of waterproofing and two layers of asphalt concrete pavement. For traffic safety, a new type of bridge metal fencing and lighting was installed.
“One of the largest bridges in the Chernihiv region has been opened for traffic. The 400-meter crossing of the Seim River near Baturyn is important for the transport links of the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kiev regions. And especially for to agricultural enterprises operating in the region. Since there is no crossing in Seim, residents of the eastern community of Chernihiv region are forced to go around in a big circle in the Sumy region,” he said.
Recall that at the end of July, the Moldovan Parliament adopted an agreement with Ukraine on the construction of a road bridge across the Dniester near Yampol.
