On Tuesday, August 22, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the imposition of special duties (PSO) on the natural gas market until mid-April 2024. Naftogaz will continue to sell gas to heat suppliers for the population at a fixed price of UAH 7.4 thousand per 1 thousand cubic meters. m. Prime Minister Denis Shmihal announced this in Telegram.
The head of government stressed that this decision is part of comprehensive measures to prepare for winter. The prime minister assured that the authorities are working to ensure that there is light and heat in the homes of citizens, and that critical infrastructure is reliably protected from Russian missiles and drones.
Taras Melnichuk, a government representative in parliament, said on Telegram that changes to the decree banning increases in heat tariffs will be in effect until April 15, 2024 inclusive.
Recall that in July, the gas supply company Naftogaz Ukrainy extended the Fixed tariff plan until May 1, 2024. Its price will continue to be UAH 7.96 per cubic meter. m (with value added tax).
