Law enforcement officers detained an attacker who beat a serviceman and took his weapon from him in the city of Kremenets, Ternopil region. This was reported by the website of the regional police.
“August 21, around 5:30 pm, a message was received on line 102 that a beaten soldier was lying in the forest. The victim was taken to the hospital with multiple head injuries,” the report said.
Police officers, with the strong support of KORD special forces, detained an armed attacker. It turned out to be a local 42-year-old recidivist, who had been convicted of violent crimes.
The police also rescued from him a companion and his two young children, who were with him in the house, and also seized weapons, body armor and other stolen military equipment.
On the fact of what was done, criminal proceedings were initiated under the article Possession of firearms by theft (part 3 of article 262 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The brawler now faces imprisonment for ten to fifteen years with confiscation of property.
