The Ukrainian army continues to advance in two directions – Bakhmut and Melitopol.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the directions of Bakhmut and Melitopol. This was announced on August 22 by the General Staff.

“At the direction of Rabotino, they were successful, they consolidated the achieved lines, inflicted fire damage with artillery on identified enemy targets, and carried out counter-battery measures,” emphasized the military

In the direction of Bakhmut, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct offensive operations south of the city of Bakhmut.

The General Staff added that the enemy tried to attack the areas of Avdiivka, Maryinka, Novomikhailovka of the Donetsk region, but did not succeed and suffered heavy losses.

Also, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russians in the direction of Kupyansky, Limansky and Bakhmut. Heavy fighting continues in the Kleshchievka area of ​​the Donetsk region.

It was previously reported that in the southern part of the direction of Bakhmut, a total of 43 sq. km.
