Herman Galushchenko assured that Ukraine’s energy system will be ready for the winter, but emphasized that the consequences of Russian attacks should not be ruled out.
Winter blackouts in Ukraine will only apply in the event of significant damage to the power system after a possible Russian shelling. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko, the Ministry of Energy reported on its Facebook page on Monday, August 21.
According to him, the energy system of our country will be ready for winter. The official assures that there are now all the necessary resources to get through the heating season without power outages.
At the same time, he emphasized that the consequences of the terrorist attack of the enemy, which cannot be predicted by Ukraine, should not be left behind.
“The enemy’s goal is to achieve a blackout in Ukraine. Last winter we learned a lot in terms of handling the power grid, but the enemy’s strikes can be changed … If there are blackouts, it will be the result of attacks on our power system and will be temporary,” – said Galushchenko.
Recall that the chairman of the board of NPC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky said that the Ukrainian energy system will survive this winter.
