They are the first wave, then there will be the second and third. Among these persons are not only combat pilots, but also aviators. There are those who carry out flights and those who provide them. Aviators also need to learn how to maintain Western equipment and provide flights. This was stated by the press secretary of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat on August 21 on the air of the telethon.
Another group of pilots are young pilots, in fact yesterday’s graduates, who will go to the UK, where they will master a slightly longer program, – Ignat noted.
According to him, the pilots will undergo basic training – English, light-engine Western equipment, and then switch to fighters.
The Air Force spokesman added that the program will last for possibly up to two years, “but that’s the prospect that lies ahead.”
Recall that Denmark and the Netherlands will transfer 61 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine after the completion of pilot training. The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with 42 fighters, and Denmark – 19.
