On the night of August 20, unknown people set fire to the Church of the Holy Trinity in the village of Khalyavin, Chernihiv region. The temple belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. This was announced by Alla Lisovaya, head of the village, Ukrinform reports.
“There was no threat of arson. People woke up and saw a fire around two in the morning. A canister was lying nearby. Unknown people poured on the temple doors and set them on fire,” he said.
According to the head of the village, the ceiling of the temple is reinforced concrete, so the main structures survived.
It is noted that there are no special values in the church.
Remember that in Kyiv in Podil they burned an architectural monument.
It was also reported that in the Vinnytsia region, students set fire to the director’s office.
