The investigation found that the colonel was obliged to suspend payments to the military who left the military unit without permission and did not return to their place of service within three days. However, the official counted the salary even for those fighters who did not come to the service for three months. This was reported in the State Bureau of Investigation.
It turned out that the officer caused damage to the state for UAH 5.4 million. Now the process of reimbursement of money to the budget has begun.
The official has already been informed of the suspicion of a negligent attitude of a military official to the service, which led to grave consequences, committed under martial law (part 4 of article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces up to eight years in prison.
Recall that the deputy battalion commander of one of the military units of the Odessa region for almost a year forced his subordinates to build him a private house. For the entire period of work as builders, military personnel received the salary of fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the state suffered losses in the amount of more than UAH 2 million during this time.
