Now, instead of the Made in Turkey brand, exported products from the country will be subject to the Made in Türkiye brand.
The United Nations approved Ankara’s request to register the country’s name in foreign languages at the UN as Türkiye. This was reported by the Turkish news agency Anadolu Agency.
“The new Türkiye brand is now valid in foreign languages,” the message said.
The UN spokesman said the change in the country’s name had taken effect since the letter was received. Now, instead of the Made in Turkey brand, exported products from the country will be subject to the Made in Türkiye brand.
It was previously reported that the application for rebranding the country was filed last year, when the President of Turkey said it “best represents and expresses the culture, civilization and values of the Turkish nation.”
