The commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Serhiy Naev, said that steps are continuing in the direction of Volyn to strengthen Ukrainian security and defense of the state border. This was reported by the press service of the command.
It was noted that the number of border patrols was increased at the border, the monitoring of the situation on the other side of the state border was fixed, the military service and reconnaissance were strengthened.
“Everything is prepared for the enemy to destroy him and prevent him from going deep into our territory. We are taking adequate measures to strengthen the protection and defense of the state border,” said Naev.
He added that an increase in forces is expected in case the threat escalates. At the same time, the situation is now assessed as stable and controllable.
“I am directly in active communication with the Commander of the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, General Tomasz Piatrowski. We often meet, talk on the phone, exchange information about what Poland and other countries are doing of NATO to strengthen their borders,” the general said.
