Russian invaders today, August 19, launched a missile attack on the center of Chernihiv. As a result, according to the city authorities, at least 117 people were injured, seven of them died.

According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko, the main victims of the incident were in vehicles or crossing the road, as well as returning from the church. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Everyone in the drama theater went down to the shelter in time. After the air raid alert was announced, the National Police officers tried to take everyone to the shelter, the department notes.
It is noted that behind the drama theater in Chernihiv there is a large park where mothers walked with their children in the morning. In addition, the central square of the city was completely lined with road transport.
Law enforcement officers have cordoned off a courtyard in the center of Chernihiv and are making door-to-door rounds of houses. Additional patrols are working in the city, the Ministry of Internal Affairs notes.
