Preparations for the heating season are underway – from 60% to 80% of the work has been completed. Particular attention is paid to protecting equipment from possible shelling.
Volodymyr Kudrytsky, Chairman of the Board of NPC Ukrenergo, said that the Ukrainian energy system will survive this winter. He said this in a briefing on Friday, August 18.
“We do not promise an easy winter, but we are sure that the Ukrainian energy system will stand up. We will have a denser air defense system than in October-September last year – this is a plus,” said Kudrytsky.
He noted that Ukraine has experience in dealing with massive missile and drone attacks, experience in balancing the system in such extreme conditions.
“Of course, we will start the next heating season with a smaller margin of safety in the energy system than last year. It is impossible to restore 100% of all these damaged facilities in a few months. But I can say for sure that we will enter the heating season as prepared as possible, “- emphasized Kudritsky.
According to him, the preparation for the heating season does not stop for a moment. From 60% to 80% of the work has been completed, depending on the type of power facilities. Particular attention is paid to protecting equipment and coordinating the actions of authorities, electrical engineers and consumers during emergencies caused by possible shelling.
Remember that on the eve of the energy system EU assistance is needed again. Electricity consumption in Ukraine is kept to a maximum.
