Since August 2022, the officer ordered the soldiers, instead of fulfilling their duties of defense and defense of Ukraine, to build an estate for him near Odessa. The fighters for the entire time they worked as builders received the salary of military personnel, and the state suffered damage in the amount of more than UAH 2 million during this time. This was reported in the State Bureau of Investigation.
The deputy commander was informed of suspicion of abuse of office and abuse of power – Part 2 of Art. 364, part 5 of Art. 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
Recall that the military commissar of one of the districts of the Transcarpathian region forced the soldiers to build his estate. The DBR established that since March 2023, soldiers have been carrying out construction work instead of service, and the order to do so was provided by the head of one of the departments of the Uzhhorod Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Support.
