Stoltenberg noted that diplomats from Turkey, Finland and Sweden would discuss the issue of expanding the Alliance in Brussels.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said he would hold a meeting in Brussels with diplomats from Turkey, Finland and Sweden. He said this at a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the BBC reports.
In the talks, the parties will discuss the issue of expanding the Alliance.
“We must take into account the security concerns of all allies in the Alliance. To this end, I am meeting in Brussels of high-ranking representatives of the three countries in the coming days,” Stoltenberg said.
Recall that despite Turkey’s recent talks with representatives of Sweden and Finland, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan still refused to agree to NATO expansion.
Earlier, the NATO Secretary General invited Sweden and Finland to fulfill Turkey’s conditions.
