In Malaysia, a light-engine private plane crashed on a freeway. At least 10 people died. This was reported by the local edition of the Malay Mail on August 17.
The Malaysian Civil Aviation Authority said the plane took off from Langkawi International Airport and crashed near the city of Sham Alam.
In total, there were six passengers and two crew members on board. The plane lost contact with the control tower two minutes before it was scheduled to land at the city’s Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Kuala Lumpur.
The aircraft collided with a car and a motorcycle. Six passengers, two crew members and two residents of the village where the crash occurred died.
