NSW firefighters said “low-level isotopes” were found in the home.
Radioactive material was found in a house south of the Australian city of Sydney. Three people were taken to the hospital. The BBC reported this on Thursday, August 17.
The Australian Frontier Force (ABF) confirmed that a special operation was carried out with the help of New South Wales firefighters. They noted that “low-level isotopes” were detected.
The material was found in an appropriate container without the release of radiation.
“Three residents of the address were taken to the hospital, exclusively for observation,” rescuers said in a statement.
A local television channel reported the discovery of mercury and a uranium isotope, but officials did not confirm this.
Recall that the United States provided Ukraine with sensors that could detect radiation bursts after the use of nuclear weapons or dirty bombs.
