According to the EFE agency, on Wednesday Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar again said that Ukraine would not be invited to this summit. He explained this by the fact that the G20 deals with economic problems, and not with the resolution of military conflicts, which should be considered at the UN Security Council.
According to EFE, Jaishankar said nine non-G20 countries were invited to the New Delhi summit: Spain, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Mauritania, Egypt, the Netherlands, Oman, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. Ukraine is not among the invitees.
Russia is a permanent member of the G20, so the participation of its delegation in the summit is not in question.
On the air of Ukrainian television, Tochitsky said that Ukraine is working on obtaining an invitation.
We believe that the actions of the Russian Federation to terminate the “grain agreement” are a big challenge for the economies not only of African and Asian countries, but also for world economies,” the Ukrainian edition of Evropeyskaya Pravda quotes him. “Consequently, we and partners are working to be among those invited, both with India and with other partners who are among the countries participating in this summit.
According to Bloomberg, the war in Ukraine will be among the issues to be discussed during the G20 summit.
The G20 includes the 19 richest countries in the world and the European Union. These countries account for 85% of the world economy and two-thirds of the world’s population.
2022 Volodymyr Zelensky received an invitation to take part in the G20 summit, which was held in Bali. Then the Ukrainian president addressed the participants via video link and spoke about his “Formula of Peace”, a plan to resolve the war, providing for the complete liberation of all Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories.
