In October last year, a military man driving a Hyundai car and a Lexus driver had a conflict over priority. Lexus passengers first beat the victim, then the driver of the car shot Aleksey Shcherbina and fled the scene with his comrades. The soldier died from his injuries.
The trial of the defendants in the case began in May. Today, the detention of the accused was extended until October 12, 2023, at the same time, two of them were allowed to deposit more than UAH 800,000 in bail. hromadske writes that one of the defendants has already paid bail.
The prosecutor’s office promises to appeal the court’s decision.
As a reminder, SFTG “Svoboda” volunteer Oleksiy Shcherbina was killed in Kyiv in October 2022. The suspects were sent to jail without bail. One of the suspects is charged with premeditated murder, the other two with hooliganism.
