In the US state of Texas, a court ordered a man to pay $1.2 billion to an ex-girlfriend to whom he gave “porn”. This decision was made by the jury on August 16, according to The Washington Post.
It was noted that the man for several months distributed intimate photos of an ex-girlfriend on the Internet, on porn sites, created a website with them, a public folder on Dropbox and fake profiles on social networks.
In order to obtain some of these photographs, he accessed a surveillance camera in the victim’s home.
The woman filed a case against the abuser in April last year. The accused did not appear in court during the year while the case was being considered.
As a result, the jury decided to pay a 1.2 billion dollar fine for the damages caused to the woman.
Since 2015, Texas has had a law that prohibits the disclosure of intimate material without the consent of the person depicted and with the intent to harm him.
Recall that in the Poltava region, the court fined a woman 34 thousand Hryvnias for intimate videos on Telegram.
