Romania will take part in the training of the Ukrainian military as part of the military assistance of the European Union mission. This was stated on August 16 by Romanian President Klaus Iogannis during the celebrations on the occasion of the Day of the Naval Forces of Romania.
Bucharest will host a future regional training center for F-16 pilots, he said. Romanian, Ukrainian pilots and pilots of the allied countries will study at this center.
Recall that the American edition of The Washington Post reported that the first group of Ukrainian pilots will complete their training on American F-16s no earlier than the summer of 2024.
First, the pilots must complete a four-month English language course in the UK, and combat training, which will last about six months, could begin in January.
