The rector of Tauride University violated education law and contract requirements, according to the Ministry of Education and Science.
Ukraine’s Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovoy signed an order reprimanding another rector. It was received by the head of the Tauride National University named VI Vernadsky Valery Bortnyak. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science.
The department noted that the rector of Taurida University violated the education law and contract requirements.
“As in the case of reprimanding the rector of NAU, his annual report does not contain information on the level of achievement of the target indicators of the institution’s activity, determined by the contract. The rector Bortnyak also revealed a significant disappointment to meet a number of mandatory targets regarding the development of material support of the institution, scientific work of employees, participation in international projects and the like,” said the Ministry of Education and Science.
The ministry advised all rectors to pay attention to complying with the requirements of the law, because if the head of the ZVO receives a second reprimand, he will be removed from his position.
Earlier, the rector of the National Aviation University Maxim Lutsky received a reprimand. The institution said they will appeal it through the courts. The university claims that in the annual report, the rector allegedly provided comprehensive information on the results of the work.
Recall that the Minister of Education Oksen Lisovoy, who was appointed to the position on March 21, was accused of plagiarizing a dissertation that he defended in 2012.
After that, he submitted his dissertation to the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance for plagiarism checking and said that he rejected the Ph.D.
