Ukraine can offer its European partners up to 15 billion cubic meters of its underground gas storages (UGS),
About 600 million cubic meters of gas from European traders were pumped into Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities. This was announced by the Minister of Energy German Galushchenko in an interview with Bloomberg, according to the Ministry of Energy.
According to him, Ukraine can offer its European partners up to 15 billion cubic meters of underground gas storages (UGS), and companies are starting to use them.
“Ukraine has the largest gas storage facility in Europe – with a volume of more than 30 billion cubic meters. As we can see from the trend of recent months, European companies are starting to store gas in Ukraine, even despite the war. This is a good sign for us and for Europe as a whole,” – said the minister.
He added that for European companies to pump gas into Ukrainian storage facilities, work was carried out to certify them according to European standards. This is a significant step towards creating an energy hub in Ukraine.
The Minister noted that, due to the significant occupancy of European gas storage facilities, the use of Ukrainian UGS facilities plays an important role in the energy supply of the European continent as a whole.
Recall that on August 12, 12.3 billion cubic meters of blue fuel were pumped into Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities.
As reported, three high-performance wells with a total flow rate of 425 thousand cubic meters started working in Ukraine. m of gas per day.
